Yes To Tomatoes!
After the skin care chat we had on here a short bit ago, Yes To was nice enough to send me some skin care products to try out and review. I specifically asked for products from their Yes To Tomatoes line since I know there are several of my followers who struggle with acne. To really put these products to the test, I tried them out at a time of the month (ahem) where my skin is stubborn and breakouts take over. Here are my thoughts:
Daily Pore Scrub - I’m used to dealing with somewhat harsh scrubs when it comes to acne, but this is gentle enough to be used daily. The small beads don’t feel scratchy, but still get the job done to remove dirt and dead skin. The first time I used it, the difference was noticeable; my skin was so much softer and didn’t feel too dry. The smell is kind of what you’d think a natural product would smell like. It’s not too strong of a smell, so it really didn’t bother me.
Blemish Clearing Facial Towelettes - While this seems like a great idea for someone who doesn’t wear much makeup, it was hard for me (since I wear makeup most of the time) to find a use for these in my everyday life. They work great to clean the face of excess oil throughout the day while treating blemishes. I could definitely see myself using these while traveling since planes can get your skin all out of whack, but that’s about it. If you don’t wear makeup though, these could be just what you need.
Repairing Acne Lotion - First thing I said when I opened the package was, “OMG, it has a pump!”. This has more of a serum consistency than it does a lotion. I use a thin layer of this product right after cleansing with the scrub. It sinks into the skin quickly, but doesn’t feel drying. For the first few days, I used it everyday, but started to notice that it was a little too much for my sensitive skin. I switched to every other day, and it worked like a charm! The smell isn’t the greatest and is a bit stronger than the scrub, but completely goes away once the moisturizer is applied.
Roller Ball Spot Stick - Genius. This little pen-like tube is so wonderful and easy to just toss into your purse for if you need it on the go. I use this in the morning before applying makeup and at night after removing it to any blemishes or pimples. The metal ball feels so soothing and cool against any painful acne bumps. Any time I’ve used this, my problem areas were significantly reduced or completely gone by the next day. The smell is quite strong and medicine-like (I can’t think of any other way to describe it), but doesn’t bother me since it’s only going on a few small areas of the face.
Daily Balancing Moisturizer - This has a pump too! Love it! This is one of my favorite Tomatoes products. For an acne product, this is extremely moisturizing. I use this after the lotion (or after the scrub on the days I don’t use the lotion). It takes a minute to really soak into the skin, but once it does, it feels amazing. Not too dry, and definitely not sticky. I noticed it really helps to control oil as well. The smell is seriously scrumptious. It reminds me of fall and pumpkins and donuts. It makes the smell of any of the other products not even matter since this deliciousness goes on top!
Last words… I’m really happy with these products. My skin honestly feels so much cleaner and clearer and I don’t FEEL like I have massive amounts of gunk on my skin. I’m incredibly impressed with the adorable packaging (if you know me, you’d know I buy anything with great packaging, whether I need it or not. Oops!), cute little sayings to stumble upon throughout the boxes, and how user friendly the Yes To website is. That these products are 97-98% natural and paraben-free is a plus too! Of course, one of my favorite things about this company is the Yes To Seed Fund. Proceeds from each product go towards giving kids fun ways to go about leading healthier lifestyles. Who couldn’t love that?
The products above range from $7.99 to $14.99. Visit www.yestocarrots.com for more info on each product.
I hope you found this review helpful! More to come! :)
